We want to do more for our authors. Between 1950 and 2018, only 5% of authors published by traditional publishing were non-white. Traditional publishers are huge and slow to change. Non-profit presses, like Bloomsday Literary, exist to fill in the gaps where traditional publishing can’t or won’t.

We can’t wait another sixty-eight years for these numbers to improve.

Your gift will provide our authors with competitive signing bonuses and the use of a dedicated in-house publicist to market their stories with a Houston attitude of creativity and innovation—something the Big Four does not do for the large majority of their authors.
